Ribbon Cutting: Central Ward Community Storefront for Newark Entrepreneurs Open for Business
All small business retail incubators are now open for business, one in each Ward

Mayor Ras J. Baraka and the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation (Newark Community EDC) will open the City’s newest location of the Community Storefront Program (CSP), which cultivates and supports small business in Newark’s neighborhoods. With this launch of the Central Ward storefront, all five of the planned retail incubators – one in each Ward – will be ready to serve enterprising Newarkers and their patrons.

Selected CSP participants receive business management training and one-on-one coaching, and then establish operations in freshly renovated, marketplace-style storefronts across the City. Newark Community EDC provides all equipment and six months of subsidized rent and utilities at no cost to the entrepreneurs.
