WPEO President to Receive Prestigious 2012 Women’s Business Enterprise Hall of Fame Award

 New York, NY (December 3, 2012) – Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., President and Founder of the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization (WPEO), a regional affiliate of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), will be honored with a 2012 Women’s Business Enterprise Hall of Fame Award on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Four Seasons Resort in Dallas, Texas.

 The Women’s Business Enterprise Hall of Fame Award is presented annually to a select group of recipients with outstanding records advocating for women’s business enterprises. Dr. Firestone was specifically selected by the American Institute of Diversity and Commerce for her work in fostering the growth of women’s leadership and development in the WPEO and beyond.

“I am honored and incredibly humbled to receive this award,” said Dr. Firestone. “Every day, I am inspired by the drive and incredible accomplishments of women CEOs of some of the most dynamic businesses in the country. It is a very satisfying achievement to be a part of this powerful community of women business enterprises.”

Dr. Firestone has also been recognized for various awards, including a special achievement award from Woman Inc. of Jamaica; the Applause Award for breaking down barriers for women in business from Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC); The Hall of Fame Award from Enterprising Women; 2004 WMBE Outreach Award from the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce; the Outstanding Alumna Award 2003 from Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University, and as one of three finalists for Entrepreneurial Supporter of the year by Ernst and Young.
