MAYOR RAS J. BARAKA, CITY OF NEWARK, TO BREAK GROUND FOR CITY’S

FIRST STAND-ALONE HEALTH CENTER FOR WOMEN AT 276-300 CLINTON AVENUE IN CITY’S SOUTH WARD;

PROJECT IS ANOTHER STEP FORWARD IN MODEL NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE

Facility will provide comprehensive medical care, birthing center, OB-GYN services;

Center is located in Clinton Hill Model Neighborhood area

 

The Center is part of the Model Neighborhood Initiative, a collaborative effort by multiple city departments, private sector organizations, and residents to transform neighborhoods into model communities. The facility is named for the first African-American in the nation to graduate from a licensed nursing school.
