Cheryl McCants, 2017 Top Woman in Public Relations completes Women Presidents Educational Organization’s Small Business Development Program McCants earns certificate of completion for SAGE Advice initiative
May 16, 2017 – EAST ORANGE, NJ –Impact Consulting Enterprises announced today that the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization of New York (WPEO-NY) recognized PR News’ 2017 Top Woman in Public Relations and 2016 Top 25 Leading Woman Entrepreneur, Cheryl McCants, as part of the inaugural graduating class of its Strategies to Advance & Grow Enterprises (SAGE Advice) program for women business owners. The SAGE Advice program provides select, certified WPEO participants with leadership training, one-on-one business development coaching and financial consultations from Women Presidents Organization (WPO) members, industry leaders, and small-business, financial advisors and bankers.
In addition to providing guidance from investment counselors, marketing executives and the SAGE business resource partners, the yearlong SAGE Advice program assisted McCants in developing a one-page business plan and identifying the tools necessary to implement the three-year blueprint . McCants, president and CEO of Impact Consulting Enterprises, accepted a certificate of completion and presented the new business plan as part of the graduation ceremony.
“I applied to the SAGE Advice program because I was seeking a supportive, qualified and experienced female perspective on growing my communication company,” said Cheryl McCants, president and CEO of Impact Consulting Enterprises. “I was looking to make connections with women business owners, financial advisors, and investors that might not normally be readily available to me or affordable by me,”. “One of my most profound moments over the past year was the realization that I am not in this entrepreneurial glass house alone. I am not the only female, small business owner committed to exceeding my own expectations and achieving my business dreams. I was looking for sage advice, and I found it.”
McCants is one of six women business owners to pilot the SAGE Advice program. Her cohorts include:

WPEO-NY is an advocacy and development organization that provides women business enterprise (WBE) certification on behalf of the New York and Washington, D.C. chapters of the Women Business Enterprise National Council, and sponsors networking events and business opportunities for its members. McCants is a longtime WPEO-NY member and serves on its steering committee.
