Gabby Douglas dons gold again! This time on the cover of Essence Magazine.
The upcoming issue of Essence celebrates the achievements of First Lady Michelle Obama, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts, Serena Williams, Sybrina Fulton, the late Whitney Houston and Donna Summer and Olympian Gabby Douglas.
“In my dreams I didn’t think about how many shows I would be on and how many people would tweet me…it’s so cool!” Douglas tells Essence. Douglas not only helped the U.S. women’s team win its first gymnastics gold medal since 1996, but she was also the first woman of color to win gold in the all-around competition.
The issue hits newsstands on November 9.
